Cando Arts Council
Cando Arts Council was established in 1983. Since our beginning, we have enriched the lives of rural North Dakotans by bringing the arts to Cando and surrounding areas. The Cando Arts Council provides exposure to the arts including drama, music, and visual and literary arts. We aid, increase, and encourage participation in the arts by providing educational opportunities and facilitating the development and appreciation of the arts.

Dakota Prairie Regional Center for the Arts
Founded in 1991, Dakota Prairie Regional Center for the Arts (DPRCA) is housed in the historic Opera House complex that includes a stage theater, coffee shop, wine bar, gift shop, and dance studio. DPRCA educates and entertains audiences by providing a wide range of artistic presentations and art education related programming.

Hagen Blacksmithing
Hagen Blacksmithing was founded in 1995 by Dean Hagen. Hagen demonstrates & teaches blacksmithing at blacksmithing threshing shows, 4-H clubs, church groups, calf shows, and at various schools per year. He has sold work in the United States, Canada, Germany, and South Africa. Available for teaching and demonstrations.

International Music Camp
The International Music Camp is a summer school of the fine arts that hosts students from across North America and the world. With more than forty programs available, students in all disciplines (music, visual art, drama, and dance) will receive high quality instruction from professional educators and performers. Weekly concerts and programs are free and open to the general public.

Lake Region Heritage Center
The Lake Region Heritage Center offers a variety of art, cultural, and history exhibits to visitors. The building itself is on the National Register of Historic Places, having once housed the post office and federal courtroom in Devils Lake.

Nelson County Arts Council is a nonprofit organization of artists, arts enthusiasts, and volunteers focused on supporting and promoting the arts in rural North Dakota. The organization puts on several exhibits annually.

Northern Lights Arts Council
The Northern Lights Arts Council sponsors about 15-20 events per year ranging from Art Day Camp, Missoula Children’s Theater, adult art classes, dinner theater, outdoor concerts, home tours, etc. The courthouse or the library are used for the North Dakota Museum of Art Exhibits, the school is used for Missoula Children’s Theater and classes, the NDSU Research Center is used for the dinner theater, and other venues around town are also utilized. Northern Lights also owns and operates the ROXY movie theater, which, in addition to showing films, is the venue for high school jazz band concerts and high school plays.

Turtle Mountain Tribal Arts Association Art Gallery
The Turtle Mountain Tribal Arts Association Gallery features authentic Anishinabe/Chippewa/Metis art work designed and hand crafted by enrolled members of the Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa Indians. Hand crafted baskets, beadwork, diamond willow creations, paintings, and dream catchers are among many fine art items on display for retail sale.

Wells County Free Stages
One weekend each June, during the Wells County Fair, the Wells County Free Stage features daily performances by a variety of artists. Entertainment varies from folk music and bluegrass featuring piano, guitar, banjo, and steel drums; dancers; poetry; and local talent. Entertainment for the whole family.
