Empire Arts Center
Endearingly coined "a jewel in the heart of Greater Grand Forks," the Empire Arts Center is a nonprofit, multi-purpose arts facility located in downtown Grand Forks, ND. Renovated in 1998, the Empire is a circa 1919 movie house renovated into a multi-use theater and gallery facility. The Empire hosts a variety of theater productions, performing arts, films, concerts, speakers, community events, and meetings throughout the year.

Pioneer Heritage Center at Icelandic State Park
Located on the north shore of Lake Renwick, Icelandic State Park offers visitors not only a wide array of recreational opportunities, but also glimpses of North Dakota’s homesteading heritage and its natural beauty. Boating, swimming and fishing for northern pike and other game fish are popular activities. Also found here is the Gunlogson Homestead and Nature Preserve. This early homestead preserves the state’s pioneer spirit, while the 200 –acre natural wooded area along the Tongue River is a sanctuary for plants, birds and wildlife.
